With coronavirus transmission widespread in Maryland, counties clamp down on restaurants, youth sports and large gatherings

The state has seen nine consecutive days with at least 1,000 new infections, and hospitalizations have risen to 863, an increase of more than 200 just since Sunday and a doubling in the past month.
