UMBC professor uncovers, documents history of East Baltimore’s Lumbee Indian community

Ashley Minner, an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe, is creating an archive of her ancestors' lives in Baltimore for what she calls an urgent project of reclamation of history and the power of collective memory.
